  I first began painting vintage toys when a dear friend of mine lent me his old sock monkey that was made for him by his Great Aunt. From there I moved on to my own beloved Teddy Bears. Soon after I found these 2 vintage Steiff bunnies in an antique shop and just had to paint their portraits. I think it is the soft, melancholy expressions that draw me to keep painting vintage Steiff animals.
I have always loved vintage toys, especially vintage Barbies. There is something noble and beautiful about her expression that made me want to paint her! These 2 were kindly lent to me by a Barbie collector. The first 2 portraits are of a 1960 Pony Tail Barbie and the second 2 are of a Bubble Head Barbie which I believe is 1962.
